What to Do About Declining Donations?

Recent headlines for nonprofit fundraising present a challenging picture. According Giving USA donations dropped 3.4% from 2021 or 10.5% when adjusting for inflation. The Fundraising Effective Project from AFP reported that donor participation fell by 10% in 2022. This is the second consecutive year that fewer existing donors contributed. The FEP also found that 90% of this decrease is from donors making gifts under $500, and gifts from new donors dropped by 18% from 2021.
